(Depending on Lunar date of your country).

** Who was Hazrath (His Eminence) Ali (R.A) ??? ***
Alī ibn Abī Ṭālib ; 13th Rajab, 22 or 16 BH – 21st Ramaḍān, 40 AH; was the cousin and son-in-law of prophet Muhammad (PBUT), ruling over the Islamic Caliphate from 656 to 661. A son of Abu Talib, Hazrath Ali (R.A) was also the first male convert to Islam. Sufis consider Hazrat Ali (R.A) the fourth and final of the Rashidun (rightly guided Caliphs).
His father was Abu Talib and his mother was Fatima bint Asad, but he was raised in the household of Prophet Muhammad (PBUT), who themselves were raised by Abu Talib, Muhammad’s (PBUT) uncle, and Hazrat Ali (R.A)’s father. When prophet Muhammad (PBUT) reported receiving a divine revelation, Hazrat Ali (R.A) was the first male to accept his message, dedicating his life to the cause of Islam.
Hazrat Ali (R.A) migrated to Medina shortly after Prophet Muhammad (PBUT) did. Once there Prophet Muhammad (PBUT) told Hazrat Ali (R.A) that God had ordered him to give his daughter, Fatimah, to Hazrat Ali (R.A) in marriage.
Hazrat Ali (R.A) was appointed Caliph by the Companions (the Sahaba) of Prophet Muhammad (PBUT) in Medina after the assassination of the third caliph, Uthman ibn Affan.
He encountered defiance and civil war during his reign.
n 661, Hazrat Ali (R.A) was attacked one morning while praying in the mosque of Kufa, and died a few days later.
In Muslim culture, Hazrat Ali (R.A) is respected for his courage, knowledge, belief, honesty, unbending devotion to Islam, deep loyalty to Prophet Muhammad (PBUT), equal treatment of all Muslims and generosity in forgiving his defeated enemies, and therefore is central to mystical traditions in Islam such as Sufism.
Hazrat Ali (R.A) retains his stature as an authority on Quranic exegesis, Islamic jurisprudence and religious thought. Hazrat Ali (R.A) holds a high position in almost all Sufi orders which trace their lineage through him to Prophet Muhammad (PBUT). Hazrat Ali (R.A)’s influence has been important throughout Islamic history.

Sufism in a Nutshell

Sufism, also known as Tasawwuf, is also a science in Islam and one who seeks to acquire this knowledge is called a Salik, Mureed, Disciple. We will often use the word “Mureed” on our site.
Sufism is a spiritual path in Islam which one travels in order to recognise and attain closeness to Allah (swt). Commonly known as Marifut and Qurb of Allah (swt). Treading this path develops the spiritual faculties of man for realisation of Divine Realities, the truth. Ultimately, one becomes a Friend of Allah (swt).
To fulfill this objective one begins by taking Bai’ah meaning “Oath of Alleginace” from one who has already travelled this path i.e a Friend of Allah (swt). They are also known by titles such as Murshid, Pir, Sheikh, Sufi Master, Saint, Sage etc .We will often use “Sheikh” .

After taking the oath of alleigance, in the hands of a Sheikh, there are many variations as to how the Sheikh will guide his Murid to Allah (swt). These varying methods are known as Tariqahs or Sufi Orders.
The following four principles, however, are emphasised and form the basis of all legitimate tariqahs:
Full adherence to Shariah:
The Islamic Law
Observance of all Sunnah.
Remembrance of Allah (swt).
Code of Love & Discipline
The above diagram illustrates the science of Sufism in a nutshell:
IN A NUTSHELL:
Sufism is confined within the boundary of Shariah, Islamic Law. This has ten stations.  The path towards Allah (swt) is called Tariqah. This also has Ten Stations. The speed at which one travels the path of tariqat which results in purification of the heart is based on one’s commitment & adherence to:
i) Following the Sunnah fervently
ii) Performing Zikr & Meditation regularly
iii) Sitting in the company of one’s Sheikh often.
When one has been purified from all spiritual and character blemishes one will have arrived at Haqiqat. Haqiqat also has ten stations.  Once this has been gained, true, sincere and complete love of Allah (swt) & His Rasul (saw) will be realised and one will have been blessed with the Qurb (Nearness) and Marifat (recognition) of Allah (swt). You will understand you have gained Marifat.
At this point you will have fulfilled your purpose of life!
This site has been configured to introduce you to the theoretical and practical aspects of Sufism & to encourage those interested to take a step in this direction.

Teacher (Murshid) is a tuner!

The work of a mystical (Murshid) teacher is not to teach, but to tune, to tune the pupil (Murid/Disciple) so that he may become the instrument of God. For the mystical teacher is not the player of the instrument; he is the tuner. When he has tuned it, he gives it into the hands of the Player whose instrument it is to play. The duty of the mystical teacher is his service as a tuner.

….A sufi wisdom

Sufi Wisdom Message!

A real teacher (Murshid) is only an instrument of God. It is his presence, what he wishes for you that helps; not the words he speaks. When I asked my teacher what is the sign of a real guru he says, ‘It is not his form, it is not his appearance, it is not what he says; it is his atmosphere, it is what his presence conveys to you, it is what his atmosphere tells you.’…

Urs of Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia (R.A) 2016

***Urs of Hazrath Nizamuddin Aulia (RA)***

On 19th Rabi’ al-Thani/ Rabi ul Akhir 1437
This is approx Saturday 30th or Sunday 31st January 2016
“In Allah’s garden you gather roses,
Being drunk with divine mysteries:
Hazrat Mehboob-e-Elahi — the beloved of Allah,
O, how I long for the attar of your company”.
Sultan-ul-Mashaikh, Mehboob-e-Ilahi, Hazrat Shaikh Khwaja Syed Muhammad Nizamuddin Auliya (R.A) (1238 – 3 April 1325), also known as Hazrat Nizamuddin, was a famous Sufi saint of the Chishti Order in the Indian Subcontinent, an order that believed in drawing close to God through renunciation of the world and service to humanity. He is one of the great saints of the Chishti order in India.
His predecessors were Fariduddin Ganjshakar, Bakhtiyar Kaki and Moinuddin Chishti. In that sequence, they constitute the initial spiritual chain or silsila of the Chisti order, widely prevalent in the Indian subcontinent.
Nizamuddin Auliya, like his predecessors, stressed love as a means of realising God. For him his love of God implied a love of humanity. His vision of the world was marked by a highly evolved sense of secularity and kindness. It is claimed by the 14th century historiographer Ziauddin Barani that his influence on the Muslims of Delhi was such that a paradigm shift was effected in their outlook towards worldly matters. People began to be inclined towards mysticism and prayers and remaining aloof from the world
Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia (d. 1325 A.D.) represents in many ways the pinnacle of the Chishti Order of the Sufis. Hazrat Baba Farid, his spiritual guide, said to him on appointing him as his successor: “Be like a big tree, so that Allah’s creation, the human beings in their vast multitudes, may find rest and solace under your shadow.” This partly explains why he admitted so many (according to some, including Barani, too many) men into the Chishti order as his disciples. Another reason has been clearly formulated in this way: “History, nonetheless, bears out the wisdom of his open-ended policy . . . To far-flung areas of Uttar Pradesh, Rajastan, Gujarat, Bihar, Bengal and the Deccan, Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia sent able disciples well versed in the Chishti practices, yet sensitive to the needs of the local populace.”
With regard to the Sufi path, Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia taught the following: “For a dervish, three things are necessary. They all begin with an ‘ain’ (an Arabic letter), i.e., Ishq (love), Aql (intelligence) and Ilm (knowledge). Let us discuss these three qualities one by one.
Sufism is, in its essence, the way of love. Love is considered to be a spiritual alchemy by means of which the baser qualities of a human being are transformed into higher ones. In this respect it suffices to say that Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia is known as Mehboob-e-Elahi, the beloved of Allah. Of course the spiritual status of a beloved is much higher than that of a lover.
‘Intelligence’ changed in the hands of Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia into wisdom. His wisdom manifested itself in the shape of service to humanity. About him it has been said: “He was not a miracle-monger of the ordinary sort. He never flew in the air or walked on water with dry and motionless feet. His greatness was the greatness of a loving heart; his miracles were the miracles of a deeply sympathetic soul. He could read a man’s inner heart by a glance at his face and spoke the words that brought consolation to a tortured heart.”
About ‘knowledge’, the third faculty of a dervish, it can be said that Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia was one of the greatest scholars
of his day. He wanted to become a Qazi, but gave it all up in his pursuit of inner knowledge. After becoming a Mureed (spiritual disciple) of Hazrat Baba Farid, he lived in extremely poor circumstances. Seeing him, a former friend expressed great surprise as he remembered Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia as one who had begun a very promising career as a scholar. When Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia told all of this to Hazrat Baba Farid, his murshid (spiritual guide) suggested that he should recite the following couplet to his friend:
“You are not my fellow traveller.
Tread your own path
May you be affluent.
And I downtrodden”.
Then Hazrat Baba Farid ordered him to take a tray of food from the kitchen and carry it on his head to his friend. After doing so, he recited the verse. This deeply moved his friend.
One day, someone told a story of a certain saint who expired while slowly repeating the name of Allah. The eyes of Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia, who was listening to this story, filled with tears and he recited this quatrain:
I come running to the end of Your street,
Tears are washing and washing my cheek.
Union with You — what else can I seek?
My soul I surrender as Your name I repeat.
Death
After an illness of about four months he expired in 725 A.H. (1324 A.D.) and realized seclusion (i.e., was buried) in Ghiyaspur, New Delhi- India) The locality is named after him today.
