** Who was Hazrath (His Eminence) Ali (Karam Allah-Wajhu) ??? ***
Alī ibn Abī Ṭālib ; 13th Rajab, 22 or 16 BH – 21st Ramaḍān, 40 AH; was the cousin and son-in-law of the final prophet Muhammad (PBUT), ruling over the Islamic Caliphate from 656 to 661. A son of Abu Talib, Hazrath Ali (Karam Allah-Wajhu) was also the first male convert to Islam. Sufis consider Hazrat Ali (Karam Allah-Wajhu) the fourth and final of the Rashideen (Rightly guided Caliphs).

His father was Abu Talib and his mother was Fatima bint Asad, but he was raised in the household of Prophet Muhammad (PBUT), who themselves were raised by Abu Talib, Muhammad’s (PBUT) uncle, and Hazrat Ali (Karam Allah-Wajhu)’s father.
When prophet Muhammad (PBUT) reported receiving a divine revelation, Hazrat Ali (Karam Allah-Wajhu) was the first male to accept his message, dedicating his life to the cause of Islam.
Hazrat Ali (Karam Allah-Wajhu) migrated to Medina shortly after Prophet Muhammad (PBUT) did. Once there Prophet Muhammad (PBUT) told Hazrat Ali (Karam Allah-Wajhu) that God had ordered him to give his daughter, Fatimah, to Hazrat Ali (Karam Allah-Wajhu) in marriage.
Hazrat Ali (Karam Allah-Wajhu) was appointed Caliph by the Companions (the Sahaba) of Prophet Muhammad (PBUT) in Medina after the assassination of the third caliph, Uthman ibn Affan.

Urs of Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia (R.A) 2018

On 19th Rabi’ al-Thani/ Rabi ul Akhir 1440 Hijri
This is approx Thursday 27th December 2018.

Sultan-ul-Mashaikh, Mehboob-e-Ilahi, Hazrat Shaikh Khwaja Syed Muhammad Nizamuddin Auliya (R.A) (1238 – 3 April 1325), also known as Hazrat Nizamuddin, was a famous Sufi saint of the Chishti Order in the Indian Subcontinent, an order that believed in drawing close to God through renunciation of the world and service to humanity. He is one of the great saints of the Chishti order in India.

“In Allah’s garden you gather roses,
Being drunk with divine mysteries:
Hazrat Mehboob-e-Elahi — the beloved of Allah,
O, how I long for the attar of your company”.

His predecessors were Fariduddin Ganjshakar, Bakhtiyar Kaki and Moinuddin Chishti. In that sequence, they constitute the initial spiritual chain or silsila of the Chisti order, widely prevalent in the Indian subcontinent.

Nizamuddin Auliya, like his predecessors, stressed love as a means of realising God. For him his love of God implied a love of humanity. His vision of the world was marked by a highly evolved sense of secularity and kindness. It is claimed by the 14th century historiographer Ziauddin Barani that his influence on the Muslims of Delhi was such that a paradigm shift was effected in their outlook towards worldly matters. People began to be inclined towards mysticism and prayers and remaining aloof from the world.

Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia (d. 1325 A.D.) represents in many ways the pinnacle of the Chishti Order of the Sufis. Hazrat Baba Farid, his spiritual guide, said to him on appointing him as his successor: “Be like a big tree, so that Allah’s creation, the human beings in their vast multitudes, may find rest and solace under your shadow.” This partly explains why he admitted so many (according to some, including Barani, too many) men into the Chishti order as his disciples. Another reason has been clearly formulated in this way: “History, nonetheless, bears out the wisdom of his open-ended policy . . . To far-flung areas of Uttar Pradesh, Rajastan, Gujarat, Bihar, Bengal and the Deccan, Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia sent able disciples well versed in the Chishti practices, yet sensitive to the needs of the local populace.”

Dargah of Hzrt Nizamuddin Aulia -Delhi, INDIA.

With regard to the Sufi path, Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia taught the following: “For a dervish, three things are necessary. They all begin with an ‘ain’ (an Arabic letter), i.e., Ishq (love), Aql (intelligence) and Ilm (knowledge). Let us discuss these three qualities one by one.
Sufism is, in its essence, the way of love. Love is considered to be a spiritual alchemy by means of which the baser qualities of a human being are transformed into higher ones. In this respect it suffices to say that Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia is known as Mehboob-e-Elahi, the beloved of Allah. Of course the spiritual status of a beloved is much higher than that of a lover.
‘Intelligence’ changed in the hands of Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia into wisdom. His wisdom manifested itself in the shape of service to humanity. About him it has been said: “He was not a miracle-monger of the ordinary sort. He never flew in the air or walked on water with dry and motionless feet. His greatness was the greatness of a loving heart; his miracles were the miracles of a deeply sympathetic soul. He could read a man’s inner heart by a glance at his face and spoke the words that brought consolation to a tortured heart.”
About ‘knowledge’, the third faculty of a dervish, it can be said that Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia was one of the greatest scholars of his day.

He wanted to become a Qazi, but gave it all up in his pursuit of inner knowledge. After becoming a Mureed (spiritual disciple) of Hazrat Baba Farid, he lived in extremely poor circumstances. Seeing him, a former friend expressed great surprise as he remembered Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia as one who had begun a very promising career as a scholar. When Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia told all of this to Hazrat Baba Farid, his murshid (spiritual guide) suggested that he should recite the following couplet to his friend:

“You are not my fellow traveller.
Tread your own path
May you be affluent.
And I downtrodden”.

Then Hazrat Baba Farid ordered him to take a tray of food from the kitchen and carry it on his head to his friend. After doing so, he recited the verse. This deeply moved his friend.
One day, someone told a story of a certain saint who expired while slowly repeating the name of Allah. The eyes of Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia, who was listening to this story, filled with tears and he recited this quatrain:

I come running to the end of Your street,
Tears are washing and washing my cheek.
Union with You — what else can I seek?
My soul I surrender as Your name I repeat.

Death
After an illness of about four months he expired in 725 A.H. (1324 A.D.) and realized seclusion (i.e., was buried) in Ghiyaspur, New Delhi- India) The locality is named after him today.

URS of Hazrat Khwaja Abu Ahmed Abdal Al-Chishty (RA) 1440 Hijri.

On 14th Rabi’ al-Thani/ Rabi ul Akhir 1440 Hijri
Saturday 22nd December 2018
(Depending on Lunar date of your country).
Whoever remembered Hazrat from the depths of his heart, Became absorbed in the sea of love; He began reciting then, this verse with zeal.

“Salutations to you, Oh Commander of Chishtiya Khwaja Abu Ahmad-king of the both worlds”.

Khwaja Abu Ahmad Abdal Chishti r.a was a great saint and the successor Abu Ishaq, the founder of the Chishtiya Silsilah. They were acknowledge by his contemporaries as an abdal, hence his title ‘Qutab al-Abdal'( The axis of the substitute-saints).
He was the son of Sultan Faransafah, and his lineage is linked to Imam Hussain r.a. His aunt was a saintly woman, and was devoted to Hazrat Khwaja Abu Ishaq r.a. Occasionally the master of the Chishtiya silsilah would partake of meals with her husband at her house. One day he remarked that in the house of her brother (sultan), a very pious child was to be born; he instructed her to go there and ensure that the queen ate no doubtful food during her pregnancy. It was this level of care, even before his birth that contributed greatly to the future wilayah of Khwaja Abu Ahmad r.a.
After his birth, his aunt took it upon herself to raise him, with the result that he used to live more with her than with his parents. Whenever Khwaja Abu Ishaq used to visit the house, he used to remark that he smelt the fragrance of sainthood. At the age of seven, he began to attend the Sama gatherings of his future murshid.
Seeing this, Khwaja Abu Ishaq said, “Only lovers should attend Sama, and you are indeed worthy!” The barakah (Blessings) of these blessed words removed all the veils from his eyes, so that nothing in heaven or earth was hidden from his vision. At this young age, whatever he prophesied came to pass, and the great people of his time showed tremendous respect towards him.
When Hazrat Abu Ahmad was twenty, he accompanied his father on a hunting expedition, only to find himself separated from the king’s party. It happened that he wandered onto a barren plain in front of a mountain, upon which he saw forty Auliya Allah standing in the presence of Khwaja Abu Ishaq r.a out of respect. Thus was the greatness of the master of Chisht emphatically revealed to him.
Immediately he alighted from his horse and kissed his feet. Then he put off his princely garb and donned the khirqah (woolen robe) of the Sufis.
The family of the sultan was distraught at this turn of events, and the king himself came to cajole, plead and eventually threaten his son to return; to no avail: Abu Ahmad Adbal r.a remained with his murshid and became a Sufi of the first spiritual rank. He used to remain engrossed in dhikr, regularly performing the continuous fast after the fashion of his murshid.
It is also reported that he used to complete the recitation of the Quran twice everyday. For seven continuous years, he never missed tahajud , and it was his practice that afterwards he used to make the following dua.

“Oh AllahQ Have mercy on your servants! Forgive the sinners from the Community of Rasulullah swm.” Thereafter, a voice used to say:” Oh Abu Ahmad! We have accepted your dua and through it have forgiven ten thousand sinners. On the Day of Qiyamah , they will enter Paradise with you.”

It happened that his father has a large winery wherein he used to store all his liquor. One day Khwaja Abu Ahmad r.a returned to this place and destroyed all the wine-stocks. When the sultan saw this, he became enraged and hurled a large rock at the saint. However, by the power of Allah it was suspended in the mid-air, injuring no-one. Awed by this miracle, the sultan immediately asked forgiveness from Allah and became a disciple of his son.
Once he was founded by a group of infidels whose hatred of Muslims was so intense that they used to burn alive any that they captured. When they taunted him as to his fate, he replied serenely,

” The Holy Prophet r.a has said that fire cannot burn one in whose heart there is true faith.”

To prove his point, as he approached the blaze, he willingly laid down his musallah (Prayer Mat)  and calmly entered the fire. When the Kuffar saw that the fire did not burn the great saint, they immediately repented and converted en masses.
Khwaja Abu Ahmad Abdal Chishty is regarded as a patriarch of the Chishtiya order. He attained Unity and lies buried in the village of Chisht, present day Afghanistan.

Urs of Hazrat Khwaja Abu Is`haaq Chishty 1440 Hijri -2018

On  14th Rabi’ al-Thani/ Rabi ul Akhir 1440 Hijri
Approx Saturday 22nd December 2018
(Depeding on the Lunar date of your country)
TAJ-UL-AWLIYA, KHWAJA-E-KHWAJEGAAN, HAZRAT KHWAJA ABU IS`HAAQ CHISHTY SHAAMI (RADI ALLAHU ANHU)
The Crown of the Awliya, Hazrat Khwaja Abu Is`haaq Chishty (Radi Allahu Anhu) was a great sufi mystic of his era and is also the founder of the Chistiya Silsila. He was born in Syria, and spent his early life there. He lived in the era of the following Mashaa`ikh, who were his contemporaries, viz. Hazrat Abu Bakr Shibli (Radi Allahu Anhu), Khwaja Hasan bin Mansur Hallaj (Radi Allahu Anhu), Khwaja Abul Abbas ibn `Ata (Radi Allahu Anhu).
When he desired to become a mureed of Hazrat Khwaja Mamshaad Uloowe Dinwar (Radi Allahu Anhu)), he made Istighara for a period of fourty days. Thereafter, a voice from the unseen said to him,

“O Abu Is`haaq! Mamshaad Uloowe Dinwari is Our Friend. You should go and become his mureed and serve him dutifully.”

Upon receiving these instructions, he left Syria, and traveled to Baghdad, and humbled himself in the presence of the great Wali, Hazrat Mamshaah Uloowe Dinwari (Radi Allahu Anhu). Hazrat Khwaja Abu Is`haaq Chisti (Radi Allahu Anhu) kissed the feet of the Master, and made known to him his intentions of becoming his mureed, upon which Hazrat Mamshaad Uloowe Dinwari (Radi Allahu Anhu)) said to him:
“O Young Man! The way of the durwesh is very difficult, but whoever becomes a durwesh, he becomes a Friend of Allah and His Rasool (Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam), and he become acquainted with the Divine Secrets of Allah.”
Abu Is`haaq Chisti (Radi Allahu Anhu) replied:

“This devotee has presented himself in your service. I have firm faith that with the Master’s blessings, I will become a perfect durwesh.”

Hazrat Mamshaad Dinwari (Radi Allahu Anhu) placed a cap on the head of Hazrat Khwaja Abu Is`haaq (Radi Allahu Anhu), and said to him:

“I have made dua to Allah that he make you a perfect durwesh.”

Thereafter, he was initiated as a mureed.
After becoming mureed, Hazrat Mamshaad Dinwari (Radi Allahu Anhu) requested to know his name. Hazrat Abu Is`haaq (Radi Allahu Anhu) said to him:
“I am Abu Is`haaq Shami (Syrian)!”

Hazrat Mamshaad Dinwari (Radi Allahu Anhu) said to him:
“From this day on, you will be known as Abu Is`haaq Chishty, and you should go to Chisht in Afghanistan, and spread the teachings of our Grand Masters, by which the people of that area will benefit, and whoever enters your Silsila until the Day of Qayamat will be called Chishty.”

He was amongst the Masha’ikh who loved the listening of Sama, and the ulema of his era did not oppose his mehfil-e-sama. He allowed the listening of sama under very strict conditions, and whoever attended his sama gatherings never turned towards sin ever again, and became conscious of Allah and pious. He never allowed the wealthy and wordly people into his sama gatherings, and if they entered without his permission, they were inflicted with some sickness.
Once, the country experienced a very severe drought. The ruler of the country approached Khwaja Abu Is`haaq (Radi Allahu Anhu) to make dua for rain. The Great Khwaja requested the ruler to arrange a mehfil-e-sama for him, and assured the ruler that, when in the mehfil-e-sama he (Khwaja Abu Is`haaq) begins to cry, it will rain. The ruler immediately arranged a mehfil-e-sama, but was instructed by Khwaja Abu Is`haaq (Radi Allahu Anhu) to leave the gathering. The ruler humbled himself, and pleaded with Khwaja Abu Is`haaq (Radi Allahu Anhu) to allow him to remain, but the Great Khwaja said to him:

“If you remain in this gathering, I would not receive that, which I am desirous of. You sitting in this gathering is not correct, so you should return to your home.”

The ruler returned to his home, and the mehfil-e-sama began. During the sama, Khwaja Abu Is`haaq (Radi Allahu Anhu) entered into a spiritual state and began crying, when miraculously, it began to rain, relieving the country of its severe drought.
Hazrat Khwaja Abu Is`haaq (Radi Allahu Anhu) said:

“Faqr is path of the Friends of Allah, and whichever durwesh followed this path, reached some elevated spiritual stage. All the Awliya and Ambiya followed this path, and always considered following it a very noble act.”

He also said:

“In hunger, one will find the secrets of Allah hidden. Whenever Allah wills to bestow upon a person some of His Secrets, He gives him the ability to stay hungry, because in this state, one has complete trust (tawakkul) in Allah.”

Once, Hazrat Mamshaad Dinwari (Radi Allahu Anhu) requested to one of his mureeds to summon Hazrat Abu Is`haaq (Radi Allahu Anhu) into his presence. When Hazrat Khwaja Abu Is`haaq (Radi Allahu Anhu) presented and humbled himself in front of his Murshid, Hazrat Mamshaad Dinwaari (Radi Allahu Anhu) said to him:

“O Abu Is`haaq! You are my son, and I have very high regard for you. I nominate you as my successor, and instruct you to spread my teachings and the name of our glorious Masha’ikh.”

He also advised him saying:

“Always conduct yourself well with the people, and love the poor more than the wealthy.”

When Khwaja Abu Is`haaq Chisti (Radi Allahu Anhu) wore the cloak of succession (khilafat), a voice from the unseen said:

“Congratulations upon you, O Abu Is`haaq, on your wearing of the blessed mantle.”

Khwaja Abu Is`haaq (Radi Allahu Anhu) began crying intensely. He was then asked the reason for his crying. He replied:
“All the veils have been removed from my eyes, and I see everything from the Arsh up to the Abyss, but my desire is not for the Arsh, but for the Lord of the Arsh.”
Before Khwaja Abu Is`haaq Chishty (Radi Allahu Anhu) passed away, he bestowed the khilafat of the Chistiya Silsila upon his beloved mureed, Khwaja Abu Ahmed Chisti (Radi Allahu Anhu). Hazrat Khwaja Abu Is`haaq (Radi Allahu Anhu) passed away on the 14 Rabi-ul-Akhir, and his mazaar is in Chisht in Afghanistan.

Urs of Hz Abu Yusuf Chishty (R.A)-1440 Hijri

This Urs  is on 4th Rabi’ al Thani/ Rabi ul Akhir 1440H
This is approx on, Wednesday 12th December 2018 (Depending on Lunar date of your country).
.
Khwaja Abu Yusuf al-Chishty (R.A) was one of the great Persian saints of Afghanistan. The level of his marifah and love for Allah is rare even among the saints. Khwaja Abu Yusuf (R.A)  was the son of the sister of Khwaja Abu Mohammed (R.A). His mother was waliayah of great sanctity who was so engrossed in the remembrance of Allah that she refused to get married until instructed to do so by divine inspiration. As Khwaja Abu Mohammed (R.A) had no children, he took Khawaja Abu Yusuf into his own care and gave him all the benefits of his spiritual learning.
Once, seeking to test his uncle’s knowledge, he asked him a question. Hazrat Khwaja Abu Mohammed gave him fully seven hundred answers. Humbled by this oceanic knowledge, Khwaja Abu Yusuf became his murid. His murshid made him recite his name (Ya Abu Mohammed!) seven times looking towards the heavens and seven times facing the earth. Thereafter, he taught him the ism al-azam, upon which the mysteries of the Unseen became known to him.
Hazrath Abu Yusuf (R.A) used to spend his time in seclusion and mujahadahs , frequenting the mazars of great saints such as Hazrat Abu Ishaq Chishty (R.A). It is said that once he became slightly lax with his ibadah (Prayers) and out of penance did not drink water for twenty years.
He remained in the company of his murshid for a period of forty years before attaining Khilafat. His shaykh passed the ijaza with these words:

“Oh Nasir ad-Din (his title)! You have donned the garb of the ethics. You should consider yourself to be the lowliest of people, and see everybody else as greater than you. Always love and respect the poor and downtrodden; because for us, showing love for the poor is showing love for the King of Madinah, Rasulullah swm.”

As Khwaja Abu Yusuf’s fame spread, he received seekers of knowledge from all over the Islamic world. The muridin and khulafah of the order of Khwaja Junaid Baghdadi used to pay him regular visits, and join in him in gatherings of dhikr and Sama. One of his major khulaffah was the revered Hanbali jurist and Sufi Abdullah al-Ansari.
One day he came across some people building a masjid. However, they had miscalculated, with the result that the roof was shorter than the enclosed area and would not fit.
Such was Khwaja Abu Yusuf’s (R.A) karamah that he climbed the wall of the building, recited bismillah, and pulled the roof into place himself. Miraculously, it suddenly became the correct size. Khwaja Abu Yusuf Chishty attained unity in 459 AH, although opinions vary regarding the month of his wisal. His shrine is in the village of Chisht.

“Hazrat Abu Yousaf Chishty (RA),
My ship is caught in a storm,
And at every moment is violently rocked;
It is receiving not help at all!
Salutations to you, our own Abu Yusuf Chishty!
Do hasten my ship towards safety”.

The Mystics view of suffering

To the mystics, to control and to alleviate human suffering is a radiant type of prayer, and the best type of charity. They do not want to see suffering in any shape or form. Long before the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was established, the mystics have shown utmost mercy and kindness to animals, and birds also.

It is said of a Sufi Saint, that, once some visitors came to him. He asked one of his disciples to spread the dining carpet and serve food. The guests took food. The dining carpet should have been folded after the food, but the host was surprised to see that it was not folded. He asked his disciple to fold it. The disciple however kept watching the dining carpet. The host again asked him to fold the dining carpet. This time he informed the host, his spiritual guide, that there were some ants on the dining carpet. As soon as they left the dining carpet, he would fold it. His spiritual guide was immensely pleased with the reply and said “verily, such a person deserves to be called a Sufi”.

In developing countries like India, there is a lot of preventable distress looming large on the horizon. Fire, famine and flood on the one hand, and dirt, disease and drought on the other hand, have deprived the people of the feeling of security. Being thus deprived of social, and economic security, they exist and drift. They, in fact, do not live. Take for instance malaria. Malaria has been the enemy number one of the rural masses. It has caused more harm than other catastrophes like fire.

Everyone of us, whether rich or poor, literate or illiterate is in a position to do something for others. If we give a smile, it is, also, a philanthropic act. If we give a word of comfort and cheer, it is, no doubt, a sublime gesture of goodwill and mutual understanding.

Let us resolve firmly, and make it our principle, that everyday, we will render some silent service to others without the hope of reward.

Humanism implies that we should learn to live for others. To a mystic, pain and pleasure imply a different connotation. Pain and pleasure are the two sides of a coin. Pain and pleasure are not lasting. They are short-lived and are fleeting.

A mystic is not the least afraid or worried of sorrow and suffering. To him, they are the gifts of the Friend. To him, sorrow and suffering are a test of his perseverance, power of endurance and patience.

To a mystic, it is only in suffering that we are purged and purified, and made strong, firm and determined to do His Will.

To a mystic, it is only when a person is put in the furnace of troubles, tribulations and suffering, that he becomes what he is capable of becoming.

Vermilion, when pressed, gives colour.  frankincense, when put on a fire gives fragrance.

Musk when rubbed gives its smell.

The wood of aloes, when burnt, gives off its smell.

Saffron, when rubbed, gives colour and fragrance.

Likewise, a person, when he undergoes suffering without grudge or murmur, attains perfect bliss, and becomes a different person from what he was before.

A mystic is not the least afraid of death.

Death, to him, is a means of getting eternal life.

Death is a bridge leading to the Friend.

A mystic yearns for self-earned peace.

Where there is hatred, thee is tension,

Where there is love, there is peace and co-operation,

Doubt should be replaced by faith,

Injustice and injury should be pardoned,

Despair should give place to hope,

Darkness should be replace by light.

They mystics hold that, unless we love, how can we be loved.

Unless we give, how can we receive.

Unless we pardon others, how can we be pardoned.

We should pray for greater understanding and appreciation of other people’s points of view.

It is not wise to throw stones from a glass house.

Instead of frittering out energy in frivolous pursuits and idle chatter, let us try to acquire and adopt an attitude towards life, which is at once, more refined, positive and informative. Organize by all means,

Pardon Week;

Forgiveness Week;

Charity Week;

Mutual help Week;

Every week should be, for you, a harbinger of better life, better living and better business.

If possible and convenient to you, try to go to the hospitals and serve, in whatever way you can, those suffering from some malady.

We should not be afraid of suffering. Suffering is a spice of life. To suffer is to be strong.

Trials, tribulations, suffering and sorrow should be faced with a smile. They, in fact, are useful, as they serve as stern teachers. They impart to us the invaluable lessons of achieving success through patience. They mould us into a frame of mind which is conducive to simple living and high thinking.

Suffering and sorrow are useful as they develop character, lead us to the Fountain of Bliss, and introduce us to a type of virtuous life. They, above all, teach us patience and confer upon us Divine Grace and heavenly merit.

Let me tell you one important thing.

Unless you think well, you cannot act well, and unless you act well, you cannot live well.

It is better to forget the past. Learn to live in present. Instead of ‘taking arms against a sea of troubles’, take arms against malice, greed, lust, hatred, hypocrisy and ill-will.

Let us forget injury, and forego injustice. Let us be firm. Let us fulfill our promise.

A Day of Silence;

A Day  of Thanksgiving;

A Day of Forgiveness;

A Day of Self-introspection;

A  Day of Courtesy;

Everyone of us is in search of joy and happiness. People have different standards by which they judge happiness. To some, happiness lies in pomp, glory and show. There are others who hold that wealth is the perennial source of happiness. Such type of happiness is not lasting,enduring or durable. It is fleeting and short-lived.Such type of happiness is imaginary.

Real happiness is different. Let real happiness descend upon you, and sit with you and smile.

I tell you that happiness has no geographical boundaries.

It has no localities. It is neither provincial nor peculiar.

Real happiness demands a price. To be really happy, one must do his duty diligently and honestly, and dispense justice.

The one aspiring for real happiness must be humble, meek, gentle, unassuming and simple.

Charity and love constitute other sources of real happiness. In order to enjoy real happiness, others should be made happy.

The tears in another’s eyes should be wiped away. The wounded heart should be healed. The bruised spirit  should be given the ointment of sympathy. Suffering should be shared. The tale of woe, wherever told, should be supplemented by the story of success and joy.

Vice should be abjured, and virtue should be extolled. Therein lies real happiness.

We must never detest suffering and sorrow. Our life may be distracted, disturbed, dark or gloomy, yet we must know and understand that the procession of our life has been ordered and arranged by the God of Infinite Mercy,Benevolence and Power.

Let us derive inspiration from what John Pomfret has said:

“Heaven is not always angry when He strikes, But most chastises those whom most He likes.”

Let us listen to the advice, given by an eminent poet, H.W.Longfellow:

” O fear not in a world like this,

And thou shalt know ere long,

Know how sublime a thing it is,

To suffer and be strong.”

This is called “Ekisvi Sharif” (Meaning 21th).
